John Willie Dunlap also known as Bobby was born in Highpoint, NC to Maggie and Fred Dunlap as a young boy they relocated to Detroit, MI. At the age of seventeen, John moved to Columbus, OH. He met the love of his life, Annette Hester. John stayed in Ohio, he married Annette and their family grew. John “Bobby” Dunlap took great pride in being the provider for his family. John was a skilled laborer. A man of many talents he was passionate about martial arts, painting and fishing to name a few of his pleasures. Unifying the family is something he always spoke on. John was an honest man, spoke of his past hoping to bring life lessons to the younger generation. John always had the Lord in his heart, in the late 1970’s he gave his life to the Lord. Earning the title Deacon John Dunlap years to come. John is preceded in death by parents, Maggie and Fred Dunlap; sister, Doris Mommeut; and granddaughter, Sanikqua Hester. Survived by wife, Annette Hester-Dunlap; children, Donnie Dunlap, Ronald Dunlap, Rhonda (Eric) Cowart, Kevin (Robin) Brown, Sheila Hester, Linnette Hester-Dunlap, Johnette (Keith) Pleasant, Sherie (Kenyon) Lawson, and Kim Wray; brother, John Simpson; and lifelong friend, Eddie Oliver; 29 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. John “Bobby” Dunlap was loved by many.
