Obituary for Rhoda Jean Henderson

Rhoda jean Henderson was born to William and Hattie Mae Banner on September 11, 1939 in Urbancrest, Ohio. She peacefully made her transition to her new home on September 24, 2018, two weeks after her 79th birthday. Rhoda lived a full life. As youngster, Rhoda gave her life to Christ while attending church with her mom. She then met and married the love of her life, Zane Henderson. To this union five children were born.

One of Ms. Rhoda’s proudest moments is when she graduated from the Southern Ohio College in 1984 with a degree as a nurse’s assistant. Education was very important to her, and she stressed this to each of her children. She completed her working career as a Day Matron for the law firm Vorys, Sater, Seymour & Pease LLP in downtown Columbus. As a mom, she fiercely loved every single one of her children and grandkids, and anyone left in her care. She is cherished by all who knew her.

Rhoda is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and siblings, William, Betty, Herbert & Laverne. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Christopher (Serena) Henderson, Robin (Kevin) Brown), Carson (Jolene) Henderson, Carlos (Atasia) Henderson and Clenton Henderson. Grandchildren, Antwone Brown, Kevin (Lauren) Brown, Jr., Lashanna (Unis) Sesay, Ghia, Shanyell, Micayla & Jazmine Henderson. Great grandbabies, Dezahand, Kennedy, Elizabeth, Karter, Aiden, Edien and Amy. Brothers and sisters, Barbara Banner, Rama Banner, Charles (Christina) Banner, Octavia (Miles) McClellan, Leroy (Daisy) Banner, Jerry (Lillie) Banner and Bonnie (Troy) Ogle along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
