Obituary for Lorine Carter

Lorine Carter
LORINE AMELIA CARTER was born on Saturday, November 12, 1927, in Glenmore, Georgia, to Lincoln Matthew and Mary Hall Cooper. Mrs. Carter was the fourth of five siblings: two sisters, Elizabeth and Rose Alice and two brothers, Joseph and Robert, all who have preceded her in death except for her eldest sister, Elizabeth. On July 13, 1945, Lorine Cooper was united in marriage to Creal Sinclair Carter in Glynn County, Georgia. They were married for 57 years until his death in 2002. Upon relocating to Columbus, Ohio, the couple, together, started a cleaners and a neighborhood café. For 34 years, they dedicated their life in Christian ministry serving as pastor and first lady of Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in Columbus, Ohio. Lorine was also the church pianist and taught Sunday School. Lorine loved gardening and had a vegetable and flower garden. She loved her family. Mrs. Carter enjoyed keeping close ties with family members in other states through written communication and the telephone. At the age of 90, God’s final call to come home was received on Monday, September 3, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. Mrs. Carter will be missed by her sister, Elizabeth Henderson of Miami, Florida; nieces, Mary (Robert) Callahan, Eloise (Clarence) Mitchell, Charlene Alexander, and Geraldine Garside, all of Columbus, Ohio; nephews, Raymond Alexander of Atlanta, Georgia, David (Arlene) and Richard Alexander, both of Columbus, Ohio; and many other nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
