Obituary for Clarence Kearns Sr.

Clarence Kearns Sr, age, 81. Sunrise April 13, 1934 and Sunset February 12, 2016. He passed away peacefully in his home. He was born to the late Myrtle and John Wesley Kearns in Beckley West Virginia. He moved to Columbus, Ohio at the age of 16 where he met and married his late beloved wife, Camilla Carol Kearns. He was employed and retired from Local Union 423 in Columbus, Ohio.
A dedicated and faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Board until he became ill. He loved serving in God’s house and was a true Man of God. He consistently encouraged all to walk with God in all things, for he said not one thing but “All things are possible through Christ that strengthens me”.
Mr. Kearns enjoyed being a father, grandfather and great grandfather who spent lots of time with his grandchildren. He was kind, generous and would always do his best to help others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and John Wesley Kearns, daughter Cindy Kearns, wife, Camilla, two brothers and five sisters.

Those left to cherish his loving, precious memories, daughter: Carol Diane Kearns; two sons: Clarence Kearns Jr. and Tyrone (Regina) Kearns, all of Columbus, OH. Brother Raymond (Diana) Kearns, Berkeley, CA, sister: Lucille Jones, Columbus, OH; six grandchildren: Lamont Kearns, Dana (Kendra) Kearns, DeAngelo and Precious Simley, Curtis Means and Tyrone Jackson, nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He will be sadly missed by all, but he is in God’s hands.
